Here are some pics of my Series 70 worked on by Jim Hoag. The holster is made by Rick Bachman. Grips by Herrett's.
Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Since you asked - great looking classic fighting pistol! It deserves some better pics, and, of course, a set of ivory stocks.

I may be big, old, and slow, but so are the ball rounds in my 1911.

Thanks for looking. I am sorry that the quality of the pictures are not that great, I just got this digital camera and I don't know how to use it well.

Mr. Hoag did a wonderful job in building this pistol. It is very reliable and I feel that my shooting has improved because of it's smoothness and accuracy.
I wanted the pistol to had all the essential stuff done while retaining a mostly stock appearance:

Kart Match Barrel and bushing
Trigger job
Hoag grip safety
bobbed hammer
King's thumb safety and trigger
Lowered ejection port
beveled mag well
slight honing of edges
Wilson's bulletproof slide stop and firing pin stop

I would like to put some ivory stocks on it at some point. It would be nice to find or make some that are over sized like the Herrett's that are on it now.
Some of the bluing is going. Maybe in the future, a little engraving would be nice!

Thanks, Gabe

If I had the money I'd ask him to build me a retro 1911 with S&W K Frame Sights, square trigger guard, plus the regular features of the 70s' and hard chrome it.
