I recently acquired a K-Frame that had been customized by Wilson back when they still did revolver work. Does anyone know who their gunsmith was that did their revolver work?

I don't have a camera, but one of the few guns I managed to keep over the years is a S&W PC F-Comp that you are asking about. It is from the first run. Stainless, brushed finish. semi-bobbed hammer. Barrel & shroud are L-frame on the K-frame 66 making for a standard length ejector rod. The front sight is dovetailed and a night sight that is set back appr. 1/2" to allow for a single port between the front sight and muzzle. It came with both wood Spegel Boot grips and Hogue Bantams. Thumb latch was also reduced like the hammer spur. The action of course was given a fantastic workover and is still after 15 years the best of any revolver I have used. They also made a blued version called K-Comp.

I've never seen one of these for sale anywhere after the Wilson run. I should have bought one when I had the chance.

Had I known Al had one hidden away when I worked up there, I would have tried harder to convince him I was a long lost son from his earlier days!! Alex is the one making the .50GI at his new place Guncrafter Industries about an hour away from me in Huntsville, AR. Great guy. And really knows his 1911's. He's got some really nice 1911 .45ACP's he's putting out now.

Vic is back at Wilson and Ron is out on his now. I just had Ron flush crown a 1911 for me that's being hardchromed at Metaloy.

I almost pull the trigger on one of the 66's (to buy it) but passed. I always really liked them and am sad that I missed out on the oportunity.
