I recently had the opportunity to play Santa and hand-deliver this one for a Christmas gift. Very seldom do I impose deadlines on myself, but the calendar was my biggest foe on this project. This gun was built for my youngest brother and he left the build wide-open for me. I intended to hand it back to him in the white, then considered parkerizing, and finally decided on a temporary coating of Cerakote. The final finish will likely be IonBond or Hard Chrome, when I can coax it out of his hands for a few weeks. I'll be the first to point out that the application of Cerakote isn't perfect, as my tired airbrush had probably seen one job too many, and the oven was shut off at 4:15am on Christmas morning. (How's that for the Eleventh Hour!!) I was just as hurried with the camera, but hopefully these snapshots give you an idea what I did. Enjoy, and thanks for looking!

Dave, that is smoking! I'm sure he appreciated the sweat you put into that blaster.

DAng that's nice.

I hate to comment on the grips when the gun is so fine but-- they are very interesting. Ivory with carbon fiber inserts? That what I'm seeing? What's the story there Dave?

Guys, thanks for the kind words - your feedback means a lot.

Ned - you're real close, sir. The grips are ivory micarta with Honey carbon fiber liners, and F22 carbon fiber inserts. Totally non-functional, but a chance to do something a bit different.

The gold-colored screws are stainless steel, polished, and then heat colored. I thought they looked "right" against the ivory micarta, and seemed to bring out the off-white hues a bit. Makes them look a bit less like recycled milk jugs...

Thanks again, and hope to see many of you in Orlando!

If you do not bring that gun with you to Orlando please do not approach the LTW booth any closer than 400'.

Dang fine piece there Dave!

The grips and screws are sick!

One question tho, the scalloping grip texture seems wider and longer than the ones I have seen and handled before.

Does it lend to a more tackier grip or just less drag on clothing?
