am I the only one that sees the irony in that? I mean I just never saw guys like Chuck or Ted or the LTW crew et al having the same lusting problems us mere mortals have...

Actually, many top makers of customs like to collect other top makers work. This may sound weird at first, but when you remind yourself that these makers all have a different style, a collection of these different styles can be quite stunning to behold.

Not to mention that the way prices from these makers is constantly going up, waiting list are getting longer and longer and some makers styles are constantly evolving, the potential is there for such collections being financially quite a good investment.

Sure, you can get a 'copy' of a certain makers particular style from some lesser smith, but that's all you've got. A copy from some hack that, instead of coming up with their own style, would rather just glomb on to someone elses. Trust me, you won't be getting nearly the level of workmanship and attention to detail that you would have from the original maker, and believe me - should you ever try to sell one of these 'copies', the price you get will definitely reflect the poor decision you made in commissioning such work.

Stepping down off soapbox....

This strikes a chord with me and I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has noticed this, of course I learned through a bit different manner. One of the best things about coming here is the originality and the level of workmanship from the LTW 'smiths... just like with this gun you guys keep hitting 'em out of the park! Bravo!

Here you go:

CT did the following extensive work on the lower half:
- CT's Hybrid checkering on the frontstrap
- Hybrid checkering on the VZ alloy mainspring housing
- Smooth and contour Wilson barstock mag release
- Completely detail lower half
- Bevel magazine well
- Barstock Wildon thumb safety
- Barstock Wilson beavertail fitted
- Aluminum match trigger with Trigger job @ 4.25 Lb.
- Commander style hammer
- Finished off with a set Of John VZ's terrific 320EMP grips

On the upper half, I started out by having Chuck Rogers surface grind off the giant rollmarks and then:
- Flattened and serrated the top of the slide with center stripe
- Installed Morris Custom rear with widened notch and Heinie front sights
- Fitted EGW barrel bushing and re-crowned the barrel at 45 degrees
- Installed one piece guide rod with reverse plug
- Reliability package on the upper half
- Cut wide French Border on the slide
- Flare ejection port
- Detail and de-horn upper half
- And blueing by Heirloom Precision
