An outstanding article in the new American Handgunner about an outstanding build!

Well done indeed!

You've come far, my friend. Matter of fact, you've arrived.

Are you guys getting advance copies?? I have scoured every convenience store, Books-A-Million and Barnes & Noble in a 15 mile radius and still finding the March/April issue.

Thanks guys... I dearly appreciate it. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to build that pistol and I hope you all enjoy reading about it as much as I did building and shooting it. :D

Just read the AHG article (I actually think I spent more time looking at the pictures though). That is a beautiful pistol my firend and a very nice write up. Congratulations!

I always enjoy Mr. Burton's pictures and have realized that these days photography is an essential sales skill for a custom gunsmith.

Congrats man! You earned it. Great looking article with AMAZING pictures.

Full disclosure: Jason is a close friend of mine. BUT.....that being said, the guy just flat out works hard and is super passionate about building guns. The custom gun world is full of guys with talent and also full of guys that are full of it. There are guys that sell stories and pontificate from on high about every technical detail rather than get their hand dirty and actually build top shelf guns. Guys that spend more time on the internet running a keyboard rather than in the shop running a file (or a mill). Jason is the real deal. Not in terms of real been there, done that, steely eyed dealer of death, deal, but real deal in terms of working 12 hours a day hand building guns one at a time to the specs of some pretty knowledgeable and discerning customers. You know if a gun goes to Clint Smith it is not going to sit in a safe looking pretty. It is going to get shot...a lot and had better work. It's nice to see him get a public atta boy from one of the most well known and respected shooters in the biz.

I know who Mr. Burton is....but who's this Clint guy?  He doesn't even post here.

(But if he went to the gold front sight instead on night sights, maybe I should consider it.)

Congratulations....that is some arrival, Jason.

Guys I just wanted to say thanks again for the kind words.

Truth is, if I didn’t have such a great teacher and mentor in Ted Yost this wouldn’t be possible. Building this gun was a joy and an experience that was helped by the solid foundation and knowledge base that was laid down by Ted. Thanks again! :)

All that and humble too. If Mr. Smith likes it, it's got to be good!

Congratulations. Great work. The clean lines are great. The grips are a real nice touch. Again, great job.

Hey Jason:
I just had a chance to read the article. It's a beautiful pistol and your customer (Clint) is obviously thrilled with the final product. And THAT'S what all of us who build things with our own two hands strive for. Well....that AND some money to live on :)!

Ted is obviously a great teacher but the student also needs the aptitude for the work and the personal drive to excel to put out that level of quality. Congratulations!!

Well, I wondered what everybody was talking about. Just got my copy of AH..... the mail she is slow up here, I think the Post Office's Model A needed some work.....

Indeed that is a beautiful pistol and a great spread of photos. Sounds like maybe Clint will keep it :D . Nice job Jason!

Reading the issue further, it sounds like John Ralston of Five-Shot Leather is also gonna become a familiar name in the magazines.

Thanks Jason for ruining another gun magazine read for me.

I picked up the magazine and there was a nice little 1911ette on the cover, and a couple of other real guns profiled within the pages.

Then I read Clint's article and see the pics of your pistol. After that I tried to read about the 1911ette and all I could see was a badly fitted beavertail, naked slide top, yesterday's sights .... it goes on.

If you keep making master-pieces like that, you are going spoil us for sure.

ML
