Did some grouping today with some Asym .45 ACP. Just a snapshot, one guy, a couple guns and a couple loads...... bearing in mind I am not a group-shooting guru. All groups are seven shots except with the Colt Officers ACP, those are both six.
A Guncrafter Industries "American" with the 185 JHP target load, left, and the match 230 hardball, right. 28 yards, bags, old eyes (the one high left on the right target is a staple tear-out, not a bullet hole):

I was very pleased with these...... it's been a while since I have shot groups this small..... it ain't getting easier as time goes by
Here's a pic of the American for those of you that didn't know about it. 15LPI on the frontstrap and MSH, and "Shredder" grips. My review of this pistol should be showing up in SWAT Magazine shortly.
230 match left, 185 match right. Kinda blew it on the left target but that 185 load almost seems to make up for anything I do wrong with the sight picture. This is the custom Springfield I recently finished:

....and, my Officers ACP with the 185 target load, left, and Asym's 185 SDX load, right. This group seems like scant praise especially since my OACP with its Wilson barrel has been exceptionally accurate over the years, but I have shot better groups with the SDX and never larger. Anyway this solid copper (Barnes) bullet seems very much like the new way to go for a defensive hollow point and was never touted as a target round. It's being loaded by several ammo companies. The Asym loading of it is very much with the others in terms of accuracy and is loaded to a level that gives a discernable edge over some of the others in terms of controlability, flash and noise, which should also translate into increased reliability. I mean, there is a certain velocity at which this bullet does its job, and too much above that gives diminishing returns.
