Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I wanted to share with you all the awesome work that Bruce Gray of Grayguns, Inc. (GGI) has done to my Swiss Army version P210.
All I can say is WOW. Bruce has done an outstanding job on it, and I am pleased with the results! It was well worth the wait for something like this. I'm quite sure this gun is one of its kind, as I've never seen another one with an ambi safety or light rail.
I gave Bruce some specs on what I wanted on this build (extended safety, checkering, combat sights, beavertail) and gave him artistic license for the rest of it. I'm more than happy with the magwell, and the rail looks like it was a factory design, imho. The frame was done in nickel, and the slide is blued. The cool thing about the magazine button conversion on this gun is that I was able to ship Bruce an original 210-8 (version with "American" release) magazine to use as a template for the conversion. The -8 variant mags use the exact same mag catch cut out on the mag body as the new "Legend" magazines. In addition to the ten or so Swiss mags that will be converted, I'll be able to use newer and cheaper Legend mags in this gun. The addition of the ambi lever necessitated the removal of the mag disconnect, which is fine because I've removed it from all of my other 210s anyways.
Bruce tells me he still has to do a few things to make it 100% complete such as refinishing the grips, cleaning up some welding under the trigger for the over travel stop, slightly reshaping the left side safety lever profile, and fitting a .22 conversion kit I sent as well.
I really think Bruce has one upped my new German made "Legend" pistol with this one. Here's a pic of the pistol as I originally bought it, a homely P49:
