Hey all,

I know there have to be plenty of you out there that have love for the CCO size. I don't see them very often on here and that's why I thought I'd post a thread asking for you guys/gals to post pics of your CCO's. Naturally it would be better if they were CUSTOM, but that's not mandatory. Even if all you have is the "lowly" Colt CCO Gunsite, post it up, that is more than acceptable.
The other makers that have CCO size 1911 styles are also welcomed too. I love 'em all. It's gonna be my next 1911 style purchase for sure.

Thanks all.

Nalajr

Here is my Colt CCO customized by Mr. Chuck Rogers; I picked it up last year from Terry Peters. The attention to detail on this piece is amazing, feels very comfortable in the hand and a pleasure to shoot. Definitely a great CCW piece. Sorry for the bad pic:

As they say - - - stay tuned for coming attractions . . .

John Harrison is working on a CCO for me. Won't be finished for a while, what with John's touches and a bit of outside work. It most certainly will be used and will not be a safe queen, but I think it'll hold its own as a go-to-town (aka BBQ) gun.

John or I will post photos when he's all finished.

Also have two coming from John. On that started life as a Springfield and another that was born as a Kimber.

I like the format, have built a few including one in .50 GI, but I do not yet own one. I certainly will when I get around to it-- probably with an alloy frame.

Oh, allllriiiight.... Here's mine from C.T Brian; in the winter when I can wear a shirt or coat over it, it converts from a CCO configuration to Commander-size. Thank you, Tim!

This 45 beauty was built by Lou Biondo of Business End Customs in Peabody, MA. The front strap and MSH treatment was done by Chuck Rogers of Rogers Precision in Prescott Valley, AZ

It shoots lights out too.

Lou is doing some nice work, thanks for sharing!

rjinaz, we know your type around here and had all the lights here at LTW fitted with 1/2" thick polycarbonate globes. Please do not try shooting them out as the ricochets are unpredictable.

How I wish I'd thought of the name Business End Customs. Coolest name ever for a custom 1911 shop!

Here's a CCO I did nine years ago-- wow how time flies. Have not done a full custom on one since.

Why have you not done one in 9 years? No demand or just other interests?

We would all love to have Ned build us a CCO, but his lack of availability for new work is legendary!

Oh My!! Now THAT is GORGEOUS!! I love it!!

That's what I want for CCW....

Thanks for posting it.

By the way, how does that new recoil spring and plug work? I've never seen one like that operate. I like the clean looks of it, but don't know a thing about it. Does it use a standard spring and guide or what?

Thanks

Nalajr

Hey Ned,

Its the one on the link that you posted. The Colt CCO Gunsite that you customized.

I've seen those setups before, but not much. Lately it seems like more and more and trying it. I do like the looks of it, nice and clean.

Is there a full length rod housed in that "plug" that's on it?

One more question, could I get one of those "kits" and put it on my Colt NRM or XSE Commander without any mods or trouble? Is it a gunsmith fitting part?

Thanks.

Nalajr

Honestly Nala, I cannot recall exactly what that setup is, I may have made the plug but that style is available. Sometimes I'll make one just for a perfect fit but either way that full-length system isn't necessarily a must-have with a Commander-length slide. This guy just likes them. The Commander I'm working on now has a standard recoil setup (factory parts), but I'm also delivering it with a flat-spring setup which includes a special, smaller-diameter, full length guide rod to accommodate the flat-wire spring.

No it is Armorer's black. That first pic makes it look more gray, but it is really black. Here it is beside my Sentinel that is finish in Wilson's Black AT. But Lou at BEC is a master at mixing up new colors. Tell him what you are after and he will get it done.
