Traditional two-tone guns, blued slides on top of hard chromed frames, continue to be one of my most favorite configurations to build. This gun was somewhat of a long-term project and one in which I got to basically do what I wanted and pick the details I desired in order to turn this ‘70’s era Colt into a full-house custom.

Image

The gun got a weld-up frame and slide fit, Kart barrel fit to an EGW slide stop and barrel bushing, S&A grip safety swinging on a ‘BM’ style thumb safety, re-profiled Heinie rear sight, Wilson Combat ignition set, and short length solid trigger. Additional modifications include flattened and serrated slide top, hand-cut 30lpi checkering front and rear, ball-cuts on the slide, hand-filed beveled mag-well, complete line straightening, lowered and flared ejection port, serrated rear of slide, the aforementioned two-tone finish, and a set of double diamond G10 stocks from my pals at VZ Grips.

Enjoy the photos!

Between the CCO that John posted and then this one, simply amazing. There are two extremely happy people out there I am sure.

So much perfection......

Man Jason I'd like to see your kitchen sometime. I'll bet in the cupboard the cans are arranged alphabetically by contents, or brand, labels facing forward, but how do you deal with it when the label colors don't make a nice progression from light to dark  ?

Really nice. Your pics are always so crisp. Sometime when you're leaving the shop, you'll get to the car, put that camera on the front seat, and remember something you have to go back in the shop for. You'll leave the camera in the car and the door unlocked, 'cause you're only going to be a minute.

That's when I'll strike.
