Hello all. I am left handed. I would like to find a crossdraw holster that would fit at about my 1-2'oclock and wouldn't really be up and down, but have a little more muzzle forward than I have been able to find anywhere. I have seen similar for western setups, but nothing for the 1911. I have a Versa Max 2 that I love to carry in. The cross draw would just be a nice change for when I am wearing a coat or something. I keep picturing in my head how it would look and funtion, and for what I have in mind it seems to be quick in presentation. Ok Ok...so I don't REALLY need new leather, I just keep getting this itch that my wife is becoming more and more aware of thanks to this forum and 1911forum.com. I would say that probably 95% of my time on line is now either on either forum or looking up leather products or customsmiths. Any help would be appreciated.
CHRISTOPHER

For my right handed self I'd go Horseshoe for the application but Andy offers a very limited selection for the left handed.

Tucker has as good a reputation as anybody in the business and the 3-slot Pancake shows as available left handed on his website at: http://store.yahoo.com/rlcompanyusa/3patwopo.html
Quote:
Two-position pancake can be worn crossdraw or strong side. Available for most all pistols but not for revolvers. Can be half-lined for extra rigidity and holster life.

I think I will have to give him a call. Thank you for your reply. I have heard nothing but good things about him.

Joshua Bulman and K.L. Null also list left handed cross draw. I'd consider them in that order.

John Bianchi was left handed himself and so far as I know always offered his whole line both ways but I was surprised how limited the left handed offerings can be when it comes time to buy today.

Tell me about it. I am always looking in the for sale places on the 1911forum and I have looked here and it is pretty hard to find quality left handed holster pieces. I say quality because that is all I will buy. Most of the time you get what you pay for.

I guess as some sort of idea I am looking for would be a small of the back holster, but instead of wearing it in the back, it would be positioned like that in the front. For instance, if I ordered a sob holster from say galco(only place i know of with a sob holster) for a right handed person, if I carry it at the 1-2 o'clock position, it would be set up for lefthanded crossdraw. Any of the custom holster makers here have anything like this?

I'm not trying to sell anything, but I thought I'd post a pic of our crossdraw for you to take a look at. It can be ordered in right or left handed versions.

Josh may not be trying to sell you anything, but I'd let him....he did a fantastic cross-draw
rig similiar to the one pictured for my Model 29 S&W, and it works great!

Joshua's crossdraw is what you need. If you need other choices, another good one is Milt Sparks 55BN with the appropriate cant for crossdraw.

Thanks for all the replies. I feel kind of special to have The Bull himself reply. The Sparks 55BN is one I am looking at too. I just like to have all my options in front of me before a make a decision. Thanks again. I am currently have a set of custom grips made, and after that is prob. when I can start to save up for some more leather.
