Does anyone make good custom grips for the Colt Python anymore? I remember seeing a picture of set made by Deacon Deason of BearHug in a John Taffin book. I know he passed away years ago, but does anyone make a similar set of grips?

Ted Adamovich, with the blessings of Deacon Deason's widow, took over production of Bear Hug's Skeeter Skelton grip after Deacon's passing. Looking at his website, it looks like he is only doing grips for S&W DA revolvers. It wouldn't hurt to give him a call. He can be reached at http://www.blumagnum.com. Another alternative would be to contact Herrett's in Idaho. They made Skeeter's grips befor Deason did and still produce that basic style of Roper grip. I KNOW they make them for a Python, because they have made them for me. Take a look at http://www.herretts-stocks.com.

I really like the looks of Ahrends grips, and Spegel's revolver grips. I have several sets of Hogue exotic wood grips that are attractive and decent quality. I do have a confession though, most of my revolvers are wearing hogue rubber grips for comfort.
