Trace,
I sent you an email welcoming you, but I will say it again, it is nice having you here. John has spoke about your knives and I can hear the enthusiasm in his voice. Again, welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I am a gun nut, and in fact custom 1911's were my first inspiration to want to do something like making knives. I had my first handgun a Ruger 44 mag at 17 still have it..
I love my 1911's BUT I'm a huge Glock fan too, I hope that dont get me kicked out..
Thanks again..

Adios amigo, it just takes one of you guys in the wood pile and next thing you know all the smiths will be doing Glock grip reductions to pay the bills. :P

Well it was nice while it lasted! I will try to keep my Glock Talk to a minimum here...HA!! Early on I wanted to be a 1911 smith, but living in Kali. and all the hassle to get an FFL, plus not having the $$ for machinery, etc. I looked for something else. I met a knifemaker at a gun show, and the rest is history. I must say the high point in my career thus far was being featured in American Handgunner! I have been reading that magazine since I was a kid.. To be in the same magazine as my hero's that build fine 1911's was just unreal to me...

Again thanks for the welcome, and I hope you dont hold that whole GLock thing agin me

Congrats Trace on your success. Pleaese feel free to post pictures of your work. I have heard your name for some time, and just haven't seen your work. Looking forward to it. By the way, there will be a fairly large group from LTW going to the SHOT Show this year, any chance you will be there?

The rest of the guns on the site are mine.

That is a great looking knife. John Del Pinto was telling me of this one. I probably NEED to get one of those sometime. Thanks for the pics. Trace, sometimes stark 1911's are the best ones IMO.

Hey Steve thanks again for the kind words, and no problem on the LEO:-)... To me a beautiful 1911 is one that works 24/7, 100%, no matter what, after that its all bells and whistles to me.. Nothing wrong with some lipstick on the pig, but function is Job #1 for me... 8) 8) :D

Trace..

I just spend some time on the phone today with Trace..........class act he and I talked about a little of everything. Trace has agreed to build a custom knife to accompany the LTW #3 or #4 project when we get to it. I have been so impressed with Trace's knives I ordered one of his LEO knives. Over the past several months John Del Pinto has been telling how nice his work is. Well, he was right. Certainly a craftsman and someone who pays attention to detail. Nice to have you here Trace............By the way, is my knife done yet. :P
