While patiently awaiting my turn for Ted to have at my BHP, with fur, feathers and sparks flying, I continue to refine and hone my "gots ta' haves".

Is anyone herein an Oracle when it comes to Accurate Weaponry & Plating, formerly of Florida and now of Alabama and their CERAGUARD finishing process.
I have read their website's offering, looked at the photos (their dark gray and matte black look very nice indeed) and read the scientific scales (albeit with a blank look, deadened brain and glazed eyes) and now need informed opinions of those who have actually seen and/or possessed or used handguns that have had the CERAGUARD process.

I am interested in those processes similar to GunKote over Parkerizing, Black-T and other finishes which are highly resistant to hot & humid weather.

Although cosmetically attractive, bluing and finishes that will not take South Florida's harsh hot & moist climate are clearly excluded.
To further complicate matters I personally do not care for the look of nickle/chrome/stainless finish firearms even in the matte configuration.

I have found that LTW is the best single repository of firearms expertise I know of and I solicit that expertise thankfully.

We have been doing some NICs industries cerra cote. Seems to be a bit more durable than KG. No long term experience yet though.
Heres a before and after pic of a SA we did for my partner. We should have worked on the dustcover rub before finishing. Oh well maybe next time.

APW has a good reputation, but I haven't seen any feedback from people who have gotten the Ceraguard finish. If I were you, I'd look into EGW's E Treat finish. Do a search here and at 1911forum.com and you'll find info. It's so new that there isn't any long term experience. I have a customized Kimber getting the E Treat finish now and one of the reasons I went with it was the endorsement and info provided by George Smith of EGW. His reputation and expertise are unquestioned and I figure if he was backing it, it was worth a try.

Here's the thread on etreat

I saw R and G's cerra cote in person and it looks great. Sounded cost effective, too.
