Here are some pics of a full size 1911 that I recently completed for a client. It features traditional styling with some interesting features. The base is a Caspian carbon steel frame & slide, carry beveled. The barrel is one of Fred Kart's finest, along with his bushing. The muzzle is deep crowned, flush with the bushing. The sights feature a Yo-Bo Pro Grade rear with radiused corners and a gold dot front. The rear of the slide is serrated 50 lpi to match the sight.
The frame is checkered 30 lpi front and back with a beveled mag well. The grip safety is a CMC and the thumb safety is a recontoured Brown. Yo-Bo ignition parts and a long solid trigger make it go "bang". Hex head grip screws and select Cocobolo grips from Hogue top off the project.
Hope you enjoy! :D

VERY nice! I love the clean look of a slide with no markings and vertical rear serrations. Very well done pistol.

Just a great KISS pistol John. I like the border detail around the frontstrap checkering; gives it a nice finished look!

John,

A fine example of your work. I'm glad I'm on your list.

That is an example of what I would call STEALTH. Very clean, not garish at all, but enough touches to tell a connoisseur they are in the presence of understated quality.

Again, I feel fortunate to find you and have the forethought to get on your list.

John,

That is an absolutely gorgeous piece. I love everything about it. The lines are simple and smooth, the parts just right, and the finish is outstanding. That gun would make any 1911 shooter a happy person. Great job.

Clean and very classy. What a tasteful example of a custom 1911.

Beautiful work Mr. Harisson. I love the detail.

This is one of the nicest 1911s I've seen. Yeah, John is a friend so I'm partial to his work.
The beavertail is fitted so perfectly that it's tough to see the seams between the safety and the frame. Front strap checkering and border is beautiful. I really like the Yo-Bo Pro rear sight, I need to get one. The slick slide is refreshing. You have to see this gun in person to really appreciate it.

I've been apprenticing to a local smith for a few months now, so I am very much a novice. This beautiful example of a custom 1911 raised a question for me. I just checkered my first pistol, and was shown how to cut the escape channel with a round file, is there any reason for doing it round or square?

John, I can't say anything more than has already been said. She's a beauty. Classic 1911 with all the right touches we've come to expect from you.
