Looks to me like alot of the take up has been temoved from the trigger. Is this correct? If so, is this standard on a Yost trigger job? Nice pictures, Tell us a little about it. How does she run, etc.

Ted did some magic on the trigger. Both take-up and overtravel were reduced significantly, and it breaks like a 4# 1911 trigger. The changes were at my request; I don't know if he does them standard now. You won't find a better BHP trigger.

The slide was flat-topped & serrated, but I think you can see everything else.

I like it so much its twin in H.C. should be finished soon.

Zak,

Not to tease you, but I will. Your HP is in process now with Ted and Colton, while I just finished your Ti Commander. The front sight should be home soon from its trip to trijicon and then it can go home.

I hope you like them both.

Best,

Ray

P.S. : The reduction in overtravel and pre-travel on the BHP is not part of the standard trigger job, but it sure makes a FANTASTIC trigger. You need to ask for it as an additional mod, but is only available on complete-build guns.

Ray,

Lew beat you to the punch; got a call from him tonight to verify shipping address & so forth. I expect to see the TiCmdr by the end of the week.

Very Nice Zakk.

Mind telling me what year this particular example was built in?

The gun itself is a Browning MKIII from 2001 or 2002, I can't remember.

Any chance you can give us the particulars of this weaps' mods? My next weap will most likely be a HiPower, and this gun looks awesome. What was everything done to it, and who makes all the extras?

Let's see if I can remember all the mods:
. basic reliability package
. no-bite spur hammer modification
. stippled grip front & rear
. slide flat topped & serrated
. Novak 3-dot night sights
. bedded grips
. special trigger job: 4# crisp, overtravel and pretravel each reduced amost 50%
. dehorn for carry
. everything bead blasted except polished slide flats, blued
. recrowned barrel
. RHS thumb safety removed
. strong-side thumb safety widened to be more 1911-like

The only aftermarket things on the pistol are the sights and the grips, both fitted by Ted. Everything else was modified or fabricated by him.

I've got one just about like it from '04 with Heinies mounted, GREAT work by Ted! As soon as I find a HP base gun in good condition I'll have Ted build me a 2nd!!!!

Mark,

The "pair" to this one - almost done now I hear - will be identical except for: (1) hard-chrome, and (2) wrapped Heinies.

Zak-

I hate you!

You're a lucky guy 2 Yost HPs, the only thing that might be better is two HOT blondes. :D

Mine has run flawlessly for well over 2500 rnds, I only got it back from Ted in June or July. It is all ready showing some rub marks from holster wear and presentations, (this gun gets used/ carried/ shot ALOT) so the hard chrome may go back on it in the future. I acctually did have Ted build 2 identical HPs this time... but 1 is my little bros, so I guess I kinda do have 2 to shoot, when he isn't looking. I got this gun just in time to shoot a class with John Farnham, the gun ran perfectly for 3 days and 1 night of pretty intensive shooting, I did clean it the 2nd day, but just a quick knock the big chunks out kinda thing. Great gun!
