In making one of my periodic checks to see whether Matt is showing any left handed stuff for sale in his In Stock section of the website, I wandered around his site a bit.

Looking at the shoulder rig section, I noticed a photo of a rig that looked very much like the one I bought from Paris Theodore in New York when Seventrees was still a going concern (I think it was 1973, while I was stationed at Fort Hood, TX).

The short version is that Matt doesn't make leather shoulder rigs for the ultra-lightweight revolvers of titanium and other exotic metals (the rigs would weigh more than the guns), so he recommends that people with that need go to Ken Null, who now makes the SMZ model shoulder rig, which looks a lot like the old Seventrees design.

I've always enjoyed my dealing with Matt and think his stuff is great. How unsurprising that he'd recommend another holster maker - that kind of generosity and integrity is always a pleasure to find in today's world.

I agree that Matt makes some great holsters and seems to be a heck of a guy. I guess the best endorsement that someone can get is when their product is used on a daily basis and the user banks their life on the product. It is a toss up between Lou and Matt as to who makes the best holster, I use products from both on a daily basis but I will say that Matt makes the best hand cuff carrier around. I also like his mag carriers.

Thank you gentlemen!

Actually Buck it's not that I don't make holsters for the Sc J-frames, it just seems silly to spend money on a super light weight and then carry it in a holster that probably wieghs more than handgun.

Ken Null built holsters for Seventrees before he aquired the patterns after the demise of Seventrees. So....it's a different material but basically the same pattern you had in 1973 and that holster was probably built for you by Ken.

Matt, I stand corrected and can only plead the CRS symptoms that come with now being eligible for the Senior Citizen Discount Special Breakfast at IHOP!

Depmur's right - I'm glad I don't have to choose only one rig from those I'm lucky enough to have from Matt, Lou and Mark [Garrity]. Great leather, and great gentlemen, all.
