Here is one that doesn't really fit in with the standard LTW genre.
My dad is finally getting to retire from his Accounting Practice, and this was the first year that I can remember where he didn't have to work 14 hour days for the 3 months prior to April 15th.
I thought the perfect gift for him would be a nice Single Action Revolver, since he has always collected Colt SAA's and the like. I didn't really want to get him something he wouldn't use, so a classic Colt wasn't in order.
So, I did the next best thing... a Non-Colt made in the Colt Factory! US Firearms has a good reputation, and many say they are better fit than most Colts of the last Century.
I even went one better, and went to Turnbull Restoration, where they buy the guns in the White, and do all of the finish work in house. The Case Colors are absolutely beautiful on this gun. It even has a Special Turnbull Restoration Serial Number.
Now on to the leather -
Worked my ass off on this one! Thought I had another month to work on it, but the meeting where I had planned to present his gift is on May 8th, and I thought it was in June! Trying to get this done after work and on weekends has been a bear - took me 2 weeks to get it done.
Everything is fully lined, the Concho's and Buckle are Hand Engraved, Solid Sterling Silver. For my first attempt at a Western Rig, I think it turned out pretty damn good.
