Has anyone done a full custom job to a 1911 frame with a Marvel .22LR conversion on it? Not a two-top gun, but a dedicated .22LR 1911?

I had my smith build me one, but with a kimber .22 top end I already had. The thread with pics is here: http://www.louderthanwords.us/forum/vie ... php?t=5396

Although this was originally built for just the .22, I am having him fit a colt gov't top end to the frame as we speak. I didn't have a gov't size gun and this seemed like the way for me to get into one with a match quality receiver already built. I'll have some pics of that hopefully next week.

I have a Colt (Coltmaster) conversion on a Colt Stainless series 70 frame that Dick Heinie did up for me. It turned out better than I had hoped. I can e-mail photos if someone can post them.

I recently bought a Marvel top end for an 80% frame I had. I was able to cut the rails to fit pretty closely.

I left the dust cover long to make it easier to use the Weigand scope mount.

It's nowhere near the same league as the professionals here, and I'm hesitant about even posting photos of it since it's a "home build", but it IS on topic, at least. :D

P.S.

I apologize in advance for the Hogues.

Looks fine to me, Ken. Those Marvel kits are sweet. Anybody know how the Jarvis one is? I have a Ceiner and it's a good value but rather Spartan compared to the Marvel.

I've seen one, built on an aluminum frame, with a red dot mounted on top (the Marvel unit with the fixed "slide", comp, and integral rail). Even with the scope, it was lighter than a standard Government Model. It felt a bit top-heavy, more so because loading it doesn't really change the balance as it does on a LW .45, but not too bad.
