If you want to see small and cool you have to look here http://asltw.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2075
Who owns that anyway? I get first dibs if you (whoever you are) ever wants to sell it!

Very sweet. That would probably be similar(size wise) to your Cylinder and Slide, wouldn't it?

I had a customer who had an Officers size Colt several years ago, and he had me make a Defender size out of it. here are a couple of pics. Finish is Birdsongs Black-T, and Bar-Sto turned up a barrel for this one.

It looks like it is, but I'll leave that for Tim to answer for sure.

Here's another one. I like Defenders, with a minimum of work they can be a great unit.

What do you guys feed Defenders? My general feeling is that they should get ammo on the milder side. Anybody tried CorBon "compact gun" ammo? I know Speer also has special "short barrel" loads. I wondered if they're formulated to get more velocity from short barrels or is it that they are milder so as not to cause cycling probs?

That Carniak is super sweet. Can you tell us about it? What kind of finish did you end up with?
I was given mine and sent it off to Steve, before I shot it.
I'd love to see some more of Steve's work.
thanks
ben

The finish is Robars, Rogard finish.
Rebuilt with Wilson parts (barrel & recoil system are stock).
Front strap hand checkered 25lpi. Hammer (STI) was cut to fit flush with slide, grip safety was cut down, and rounded off. Mainspring housing was also rounded off at the bottom. Sights were recut for a better fit, novaks installed. All edges were rounded off. Much more was done, but I can't recall right now. Thumb safety had to contoured to fit with the grip safety. As I think of anything else I will let you know.
Good luck with you project.
