There seems to have been quite a few two-tones leaving our shop lately and here’s a look at a matched set of Signature Grade Colts that Ted recently completed.

Image

It’s been said before and it still holds true, there may be no better example of a “gunman’s” piece than a well executed two-tone Government Model. Classic and practical, the traditional styling of blue over hard chrome is as functional as it is good looking and for those who want a durable finish on the gun’s ‘interface’ but still wish to have the benefits of a dark finish a proper two-tone combination is often times just the ticket. Neatly tucked away in a Summer Special and a two-tone gun just looks right at home whether on the range or hidden away for concealment use and the only thing needed to complete this set is a left-handed S/S to facilitate a faster and much more exciting reload. 8)

To the best of my recollection this is only the second matched pair of two-tone Signature Grades that Ted has done... the owner of the other set must be a lucky guy. Enjoy...

Another perfect pair Ted. Congratulations to the owner.

Those two tones are really starting to grow on me.

Once again nothing short of perfection from Mr. Yost!

Nice pictures as well and I like the use of the Sparks rig for the "props", it fits the guns and theme quite well.

I'm green when it comes to the wood used for some of the beautiful grips I see here. The ones in this pic are by far my favorite, next perhaps to Ivory on a black gun. Can someone tell me what wood was used to fashion these grips?

I prefer hex screws for the grip panels, but damn if it doesn't look just incredible with perfectly regulated slot screws. That is a work of art.

Man, these two tones are growing on me.

And yes, Ted does have nice wood. :D

The grip panels he put on my signature grade are stunning.
