Here is a set that you don't get to see very often - three of a kind. When the owner and I began discussing his project - customizing a set of three consecutively numbered NRM Government models - we considered building them as a matched set of three, as well as other things. The idea of a matched set didn't speak to us the way a matched pair would have. The gears kept turning and we finally decided that a "Trio Singing in Harmony" (to think of it in a pretty corny musical manner  ) would work better. So the plan developed to customize all three identically, but use different finishes on each - blue, hard chrome and two tone.

The pistols all had welded and remachined slide to frame fits, Kart barrels, H-D bushings and spring plugs, Original Heinie sights with white dot fronts, 30 line serrations on top of the slides and 40 line on the rear. The beavertails are King's with a re-cut radius, original Colt thumb safeties and Caspian large ring hammers. The front straps were checkered at 30 lpi by Pete Single, the mag wells beveled and the butts rounded. The work was finished off with the usual cool touches like Carry Bevel, extended, checkered mag catches and indexed grip screws. The customer supplied bordered, double-diamond checkered grips by Esmerelda.

I was gonna crack wise about one being a little bit country and one being a little bit rock n' roll, but that doesn't work when there are three..... anyway they all three look like rock n' roll to me!

Wow. Those beauties make me want to sing too.

Just an old-fashioned love song
One I'm sure they wrote for you and me

What a great trio, John. If they are half as nice in person as they are in the photos, that will have made my trip.

Always liked those older-style Heinies for some reason. Nice-looking guns.

Johns vision of "Trio Singing in Harmony" is much classier than my view of George Thorogoods "One whisky, One scotch, One beer". The guns have finally made thier last part of the journey and I got to see my new "kids" today. What a fantastic trio. The fit and finish are outstanding, and the misc parts "WE" selected (lots of eye rolling by John on some of my choices I think) came together to make a near perfect set.

Those of you lucky enough to have met or even talked to John, know what a fine gentleman he is. I want to thank him for his patience and guidance and for the fine set that I am proud to own.
