I picked up a couple of Colt 380s a few years ago. My oldest daughter decided that they were fun to shoot, so I thought a little custom work was in order. So off to Don Williams they went....

New sights, a little stippling, a few new parts and a little refinish work later, the results are fantastic. The Government 380 was nickel plated and I thought that blue would look better, so I asked Don to strip the nickel off.

Thanks Don! Annie loves them!

Mark, as to be expected from Don...fantastic!! I hope to have some work done on my trusty Pony Pocketlight one day if finances ever allow and this type of package would suit the bill just fine. Who did the finish on the blued one, and what is the actual finish? I would like to do away with the nickel finish on my Pony and get a very durable blued finish.

Mr. Munsey, The gun was actually blued twice. I originally stripped the nickel here, and sent it out to be blued, but all the nickel wasn't removed. At that point, I sent it to the fellow who does my plating, who also does blueing and had him re-strip it and re-blue the gun. Terry Wolford did the blueing finally. Glad Annie likes them Mark.

Were there any issue's when stripping the nickel? I have a nickel revolver I want to strip and re finish with a different aplication maybe hard chrome. Was just wandering how it turned out once the nickel was stripped. Excellent custom work by the way. Don is amazing. He did a comander for me a while back. One of my favorites in my collection.
