As with all of us who admire craftsmanship, I recently found an interesting base piece; a Colt Series 80 with Special Combat on it and the serial number of COMBAT 200. Well I sent it to Matt Davis of M D Custom Machine. This will be the 4th gun of his that has passed through my little retail operation and with each one you can see a bit more detail in each work.

By the way, this one is on the way to its new owner in Louisana.

As usual please pardon the pictures, as I an no "perfussional picker taker" but got enough so you can see the work.

I am trying to figure out what to do next. Anyway, thanks for looking and you may see this one somewhere else in the future.

I am not the best photog, but here is the MD Special Combat with some very nice 5-Shot leather.

Bad pics of the front strap, sorry for the lint and other stuff in the front strap. I didn't have a lot of time to take these pics.

That's purty! I'm loving the big hole in the hammer as opposed to the now more common oval slot.

MD # 008 spent the first day of the year on the range. Here are some pics after that range session.
I often wish I could see some of the great builds posted on this forum after they have been shot and used for a while, so I thought I would update this thread with some pics of this gun as it looks now.

I haven't seen anything come from TAD gear that wasn't quality.

David

It has been my experience as I have been in the custom business for a while the best compliment to the craftsmen who create these pieces is to use them. And really use them

Well this one was broken in at a Ken Hackathorn Advanced Pistol class in November that Wayne Dobbs hosted in Texas. I also met a friend of yours that was also in that class, Terry.

I couldn't quite keep up with you, but I was trying.

That is only because my tupperware and kydex shooting was Cigar assisted... :D
If only we boys in blue could regularly relay on back-up that shot as well as you and that pistol, the world would be a better place, take care and congrats again on a great pistol and good peformance, see you on the range!
