Here are some pics of a Colt Commander that was the recent recipient of a little Harrison Design love! It probably has some stories to tell if it could talk. It has an alloy Colt receiver with the CLW prefix. It appears to be a '69 vintage. The odd thing it that it's wearing a Combat Commander slide. I've never noticed this before and was wondering if any of you have seen it. Maybe the slide is a replacement part, or maybe it slipped out of Colt this way. :? It had been mildly customized with a few King's parts at some point. It had a horrendous checkering job on the trigger guard which was welded up and restored by my buddy Ted, but was otherwise unmolested. Thankfully the checkerer gave it up after the trigger guard and left the front strap alone! Hope you enjoy the pics. :D

Thanks John,

To coin a phrase: You took a sows ear and made it into a silk purse.

It was definitely in need of your version of Tender Loving Care and you came through. It's Beautiful.

I don't know how or when the slide was mated to the CLW frame. Though I'm in awe of how it turned out.
Light weight, can't tell where the trigger guard was welded, excellent sights, the scallops are excellent. I'm looking forward to carrying it...

It was worth the wait on your list....

Thanks

Very nice, John.

I think that pairing was done sometimes..... not really sure though. And I think it's a better gun that way anyway.
