No I didn't make a mistake on ".308" It is a joke we have in the shop. You have to ask Theo. Anyway, I have been waiting for this one to get done. Being able to carry a rifle that weighs less than 5lbs. in .308 is not easy for the builder but is very easy for the shooter to pack around. The metal work including the break and barrel fluting is Tip Top. Can't wait until this one goes to the range. Should be fun to fire up.

The stock work by Ted and Lew is unreal.

Hey Stan,

Those are rare and cost quite a bit more. I think I have the only one made by Theo.

That is the HIGH COUNTRY ticket right there! It is SWEET! Reminds me of some of the rifles I saw a few years back at Dale Storey's shop here in Casper. He made a quite a few lightweights for a while, wish I would have bought one back then (every year in the high country gets a little tougher  ). Alas, I was too young to see the wisdom of it. Nice work Lew.

That is a sweet rifle. Is it meant to be a hunting rifle or a LEO type rifle? Don't get me wrong I think it's beautiful, I'm just curious.

More of a packing rifle. Weighing under 5lbs makes it easy to carry on long hunts or hikes. Don't get ME wrong, it would be fine as an LE rifle as well.

I'm not LE but I sit next to Steve on occasion....

In my humble civilian opinion, any law that can be enforced with a .223 carbine could be enforced more convincingly by a .308 bolt gun in the right hands :)
