This little blaster saw a rough life as a Policia sidearm in Buenos Aires. The owner wanted to give it a new lease on life and here's how it turned out. There are a few scars left from it's previous life and I thought they should remain.

All the sharp corners were beveled.

The rear sight is a Novak for a Colt .380 to avoid interference with the internal extractor. (Thanks for the tip, Don!)

Wow!! I did not even know John worked on Hi-Powers!!

Very nice. I really like the stippling. Pretty neat how the parts from other models were modified to fit this Hi-Power. Really impressive work.

I just stumbled on this thread while searching for another thread. I know the owner of this pistol. He is a pretty finicky guy when it comes to his custom pistols. He wasn't happy with his first choice of sights (CMC drop in rear and fiber optics front). I had a chance to shoot the pistol in a "steel challenge" type match with his first choice sights and I wasn't impressed with that set up either. The owner sent the gun to John to have the sights replaced with carry sights therefore the tritium front. Due to injuries to his hands, the 9mm caliber has replaced the .45acp, the Hi Power is now his primary carry piece.

This is a beautiful pistol.

Nice Hi-power. I have a '61 Buenos Aires Polica Hi-Power with a serial number in the 2500's. Sadly the gun was given to a "name" smith who proceeded to butcher it. Thankfully Don Williams has agreed to see if he can try and rescue the gun.

Don, thanks for taking the time to help me out the other day. It is rare in todays world to find a business where the owner is willing to help bail a customer out of another business' mess. As soon as my Springer comes home from EGW the p-35 will be headed out your way.
