This shiny one belongs to a good friend, if it was mine I'd have John bead blast the finish. Built on Wilson frame and slide.

I have a few (four at the moment, one more pending) examples of John's work. My favorite is a stainless Colt Series '70. Another fun one is a 9x23/9x19 switch barrel built on a Series '80 Colt. If I had a host, I could post some pictures.

smooth one,

I love your Combat Special redux.

I'm still (im)patiently waiting for my Precision Gunworks toy(s), but I have a couple of lightly customized "toys" by John. Here's one of them:

Here are a couple of pics of my semi-custom Kimber Stainless Compact that John worked over. Mostly ergonomic improvements. Currently John is building me a full custom Caspian pistol.

Alex,

That's a great looking pistol. What model is it? I didn't know Wesson made a model without Front Cocking Serrations. I've had a couple of Dan Wessons, and after minor tweaking was very pleased with both.

Brian,
That’s a Patriot model, but it’s one of their experimental guns – it’s never been cataloged or mass produced, so it’s really a one of a kind gun. Lack of FCS was the reason I bought it in the first place. It needed some minor work out of the box (mostly cosmetic), plus, since it was going to be my IDPA CDP gun, I asked John to replace front sight with a fiber optic, install a magwell, and do few other things to it. It’s been great ever since getting back from John – not a single gun-inflicted malfunction in over 6 months of weekly matches.
- Alex.

Tweeb; The Commander is a beauty-I really like the "half bob" treatment on the MSH/magwell- nice touch, John.

Thanks Swamper. John did a great job (like always). This pistol is a real pleasure to shoot and, in my opinion, the ideal size for a carry piece.

Alex - I thought that might have been one of "experimental' Patriots. I had a Stainless Patriot that I sold to fund another pistol and it was a great gun. You've probably seen it; I sold it to a friend who shoots in the weekly CCIDPA match.

If John worked over a Llama I'd buy it. Great smith, great person to deal with.

You're falling behind on the Harrison gun race, Farscott is way ahead of you. You're overdued for another? Maybe a Harrison Glock? :)

It is one thing to buy a gun from a pistolsmith. There is however no better endorsement that one can give a smith than to buy a second.

As for you guys I am researching a new disease classification that seems to be highly contagious in this circle. I recently read an article in the Journal of Medicine about some guy out on the west coast named DelPinto or something. There is speculation that he is the principal vector of your afliction. That being said I believe I shook a guys hand by that name at SHOT…. Anyway I was trying to come up with a name to fit the acronym: P.O.O.R. and D.I.V.O.R.S.E.D.

Mr. Harrison, you must be doing something right. :D

Cheers,

Jim

There are a few reasons why I am a repeat customer/client of John's, and only one of them has to do with the pistols themselves.

1) His pistols run while looking good.

2) He is absolutely trustworthy.

3) He is a very nice person.

3) is just as important to me as 1). 2) is more important than both.

There are never any worries when working with John. He makes the process fun while insuring the customer gets a great pistol.
